Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman is an Australian actor and producer with over 50 movies under his belt. Even though he’s Australian and has spent a lot of time there in the childhood, he’s very well-known for his fluent American accent. He’s multi-talented, being a good producer, playing musical instruments and dancing. It wasn’t until Hugh Jackman was around 22 years old that he realized he’d like to do acting for a living. Until now, he has been nominated for one Oscar for Les Misérables (2012) with Anne Hathaway.

He did play in a variety of genre – superhero, action movies, but also in romantic ones making women swoon over him. A good example of that is Kate & Leopold (2001) with Meg Ryan. But also dramas like The Prestige and The Fountain, both in 2006. His role in Les Misérables (2012) earned him an Oscar nomination for the Best Actor, although he did not win it, but his co-star Anne Hathaway did. To make things right, he received a Golden Globe for the same movies for the Best Actor.

However, even though Hugh Jackson was brilliant in those movies too, we know him as a rugged, badass Wolverine character. He played a character of Logan in multiple X-Men franchise movies, spanning from 2000 up until 2006, where X-Men: Apocalypse launched. Luckily, we saw him as Logan in the movie of the same name, in 2017, and that deepened our connection to him as his character. But did you know he was in the action-packed Van Helsing (2004) with Kate Beckinsale too? Hugh Jackman had the main role of a kickass monster hunter fighting against Dracula, and there are some werewolves to be killed, too.

2018 Broadway 4D (completed) Curly

Hugh Jackman has three movies yet to see the day this year. First on the list is Tourism Australia, where Crocodile Dundee comes back, and it’s a great comedy. Next up is a movie full of scandal and politics, where Hugh is a presidential candidate caught in a love affair. Honestly, full of intrigue and uncertainty, and worth a watch. The last project for now, and it’s already completed – Broadway 4D. He’ll be a character named Curly, struggling to decide between going for acting or finding true love. Another great drama/musical, and very close to Hugh’s own life, as he’s a musician and took quite some time to decide on doing acting for a living.

Hugh Jackman Facts

  • Hugh Jackman was actually cast as Wolverine at the last minute. Dougray Scott was gonna play it, but with a turn of fortunate events, his filming was prolonged and he couldn’t. It changed Hugh’s life forever, and it’s better not to think of what could’ve been.
  • Both of his children are adopted, and he adopted his son way back in 2000.
  • He really liked the character of Superman. The problem is, Superman is a part of DC Universe, a rival to Marvel, who owns Wolverine and X-Men rights.
  • Not only is Hugh Jackman known for playing roles from the comics, but he’s been offered a lot of them throughout the years. He could’ve played in Daredevil and Hulk, both in 2003, Iron Man (2008), Fantastic Four (2005) with Jessica Alba, and others.
  • Shaved off his head and chest hair for scenes in The Fountain (2006).
