Bill’s TV show host, radio personality, and author career, of course, started with his education. His preliminary education started at St Brigid Parochial School, and he later went to Chaminade High School, following his father’s wish. He had a great sports background there, playing baseball and being a goalie of a hockey team. After he graduated from high school, he enrolled at the Marist College, from which he graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Bill O’Reilly used the degree to teach students at Monsignor Pace High School for two years.

In 1973 Bill O’Reilly went back to Boston University to get a master’s degree, and it was at that time that he worked as a reporter and a columnist. His official career started at WNEP-TV, and he mostly worked in the weather department. Afterward, he moved on to investigative reporting and later worked with different TV stations like KMGH-TV, KATU, WFSB, WNEV-TV, leading to Bill O’Reilly even winning an Emmy award for skyjacking coverage. He was so talented, in fact, that he got promoted to the position of a news anchor on the ‘7:30 Magazine’. He covered the topic of corrupt city marshals and was awarded a second Emmy award for his achievement.

More promotions followed because he was very investigative and intelligent, and Bill O’Reilly first got the job as a news correspondent of the CBS News, but later had to leave CBS because of an uncredited use of footage. In 1986, due to a little bit of luck, he made a tribute to a death for Joe Spencer’s friend, who was ABC news correspondent. ABC News president, having heard of the case, offered him a job. At first, he was hosting daytime news briefs, and was later a reporter for Good Morning America, Nightline and others.

Bill O’Reilly later moved on to become an anchor for Inside Edition and has been able to cover some of the very famous events, like 1992 Los Angeles riots. After that, he joined Harvard College to get a Master’s degree in Public Administration. That’s where Fox News offered Bill O’Reilly a job, and it’s what most of us know him today as. It was the flagship show called ‘The O’Reilly Factor’, which lasted until 2017, when an incident was uncovered, which you’ll read about below. It’s important to realize that the show was extremely famous, and top rated-show in three major US cable news channels.

Besides that show, he also hosted a show The Radio Factor, which has almost 3.5 million listeners and got broadcast on 400 radio stations. It lasted until 2009 and was #11 among 100 most important talk show hosts in America. But the thing that changed it all happened in April of 2017. Fox News fired him, and the things started to unfold. There were six agreements made between unknown women who were sexually harassed by Bill O’Reilly and him, and they were offered money in return for silence.

It was later uncovered that Bill O’Reilly paid $32 million to an unknown network analyst in order to settle new allegations. It’s an insane amount, and almost unheard of. The owners of the Fox News, the Murdoch family, initially stood by Bill, trying to help him. But in the end, they decided it was not bringing good publicity to the network, and finally, Bill O’Reilly was fired. However, he managed to come back with his “No Spin News” podcasts that he recorded for years while working and is back at it again, full-time.
